Re: Skullbeast - building a Cylon
WOW!!!
That's too cool!
Are you going to build a complete replica costume?
Please let me know if you need additional reference material.
From your sculpt I guess you've used the photos of the prototye head as reference...
You really should start a new thread about it!
Consider me VERY IMPRESSED my friend! *Bows down*

Yes I think a build is in order. Any reference is appreciated. Is there just 2 styles?

The original screen-used version slightly differs from the prototype.
There were another version used for the Battle of Galactica tram ride as well...
Feel free to PM me for addtitional reference.
Perhaps you too can come up with something I've never seen before...
What are your plans of incorporating any electronics like glowing eyes or a moveable mouth, etc.?
Are you doing it as a comissioned order or just for fun?
Perhaps you could finish it in time before the BSG Exhibition in Seattle ends (March 4, 2012), to give the original its face back!
That would be so cool!!!

I was studying the the prototype and the head in the orb on the deleted scenes. I know that that prototype is stiffer slip latex. And I can tell that the orb head moves like foam rubber. Some times a glue down and a material change can cause puppets to be different.
I see a lot of landmarks.
Eyes would be No problem. The mouth looks hand controlled aka big bird, one arm in an arm and one on the mouth. Or wear it as a mask and slave the mouth off the wearers mouth.
I just felt the need, more like rediscovering the cylon leader. I dont see this taking to long. You know a nice silicone skin would be awesome and I think it's doable for march.
