Looks great, darthmiller! I am jealous and might have to ban you now (KIDDING).

You have two chest plates... spare parts? Or are you doing two full Centurions?

We have a machine that makes distiller water....I will take a pic of it and post it tonight

My buddy actually got the filter system for this project....when we started the project we quickly found out it would not be possible without the filter system. You are correct...it was a nightmare....pin holes all in the basecoat of the paint from water in the lines

We are sealing everything today

Buying distilled water by the gallon or so that must be costing a lot of money. I would use about 50 gallons a run, but I had the filtering system off that tap.
Your finished items look great. Are they sealed yet?

Are you going to make it to GalactiCon 3 in Huston in May with those suits?

Had some problems with the clear coat today....no yellowing

Just some type of contamination that caused some tiny white dots in the clear

Going to take some work to resolve this

If I cant figure this out....I will be going with vac metal

That clear coat is the sticking point in most cases. It really is a bummer when you see that nice shinny luster go down the drain with something that should be clear.

Yep....I have little patience for this type of stuff.

I was on the phone with the cosmichrome people today and they said it must be my fault....

Water in lines or contamination

If we can't resolve it fast I move on to vac metal....

Really angry...I hate it when stuff goes wrong

I feel your pain Darth... I'll be shipping out a bunch of stuff for vacmetal too this month. I was hoping in the back of my mind that you would be interested in doing it if my first source didn't come through... he didn't... but looks like you are in the same boat as myself if you can't get it figured out.

I hate the white dots (Bubbles) that can show up in a clearcoat. I have model railoading as a hobbie, and painting and super detailing Engines appeals to me. Anyway, some years ago I put alot of time in on a project and after extensive kitbashing, detailing and painting, I put down a clearcoat for decals, and reguardless of precautions, I got the white specks from moisture. So yes I know your pain, solution. dont use air. After my melt down I was turned on to CO2. You can rent or buy a tank at your local Airgas supplier and exchange out the bottle when empty. Never have a moisture problem again.
