Hi all,
I thought I'd post up a couple of pics of my rifle build.
I started with some pine planks and cut out the pieces according to the measurements supplied by Jenne. Glued and screwed:

The barrel is made from PVC pipe cut in half lenghways and some 2mm styrene sheet. There is wood inside it to keep it nice and strong. The clear sheet is from a box that some kitchen appliances came in, I knew that box would come in handy sooner or later!!

Then I came across this pic in the photos section of this site, and realised I was a little off in my accuracy of the barrel....hmmmm...this one looks soooo much better than mine.....hmmm, might have to find a clear tube instead.....

so a little surgery was called for and this is where it sits as of this moment.....

Made the nozzle and bayonet from perspex sheeting found in a local plastic manufacturers scrap bin. The bayonet is a little longer as it will be pushed into a slot:

And I just ordered the side detail panels from CORA.
More updates as they happen.
cheers

Re: my cylon rifle build
THON2009...I made the muzzle from perspex sheeting cut in circles using a hole saw. The measurements were given previously by Jenne and are in one of these recent threads. The black edge is actually duct tape, not paint, very carefully sliced with a sharp blade.
CORRA...I received the cylon rifle side detail castings today, thanks. They look great.
Now it's full steam ahead to finish this rifle. The actual rifle is almost complete, (minus the side detail castings). I'm waiting for my electronics guru brother to come up with a strobing led circuit to simulate the laser fire. I'm being rather difficult, requesting that the strobe effect is in a random, sporadic sequence. As this rifle is going on a mannequin, there won't be a trigger as such. Just a simple on/off switch. So I want the laser fire to be random. Not just a boring flashing circuit.
More updates to follow.
