That is very cool, I have search 3M high and low and couldn't find it in the past. The original roll I have from the studio, that used on the Cylons did come from 3M. I bet they used a roll or two a day when they had Cylons on the set.

I finally found one roll of aluminium tape. :D

I hope the contrast to the chromed armor parts will be little noticeably.

I was at a customers of mine today, a family owed art supply shop. I saw a new item, it was a small 4 pack of chrome tape. They had the standard silver, then gold, copper, and black. Now that black chrome is out there, time to make a black Cylon, since all the other colors have been made :-)

A few weeks ago while wrapping on a production I was on.....we were putting furniture and fixtures back in the gold room.....I opened a drawer and there was a roll of this chrome tape in it. I asked the grips, gaffers and anyone else I could find to see if it belong to them. No one claimed it....so it now belongs to me! This is not 3M tape it is Nashua Tape.

This link has a higher luster rate in the reflection to the tape, at least via the photo.

I've got a little problem with the chrome tape and my armor...

So here's the deal: I managed to buy a role of chrome adhesive foil in the meantime.

But after comapring it with my armor I've realized that the tint of the foil and the armor are very different (the chrome finish of the armor is much darker) that you could clearly see the foil after bonded to the seams.

So do you have any ideas how I can match the tint of the foil to cover the seams more precisely?

I can see the chrome seams on my Cylon very easy, but not as easy if it wasn't covered. I can even see the seams on TV watching the video. I won't try to hide it 100% , because it just isn't going to happen.

I don't want to hide the seams 100%, I just want that they are no longer visible so easily.

But it seems impossible to find a matching chrome tape with the exact color match of my armor...

Therefore I've to leave the seams uncovered, I'm afraid...

The tape (at least 3M) peels off as easy as it was placed down. I can't speak for others tape. I suggest testing a section, like an out of the way hidden area, like the back lower side of the back pack to see if the tape peels off with out any problems.
