Thanks for joining. Yes that list is an awsome piece of work. It is still a work in progress as there a afew parts still to be identified. We're finding new pieces every week so at that rate will have it covered before too long. It really is a massive help in trying to build this replica. Probably without it I wouldn't even try. Some of the kits that only give up 1 or 2 parts are in the $500-$1000 mark. I have 3 kits that value at over $2000 just for them..... It can be sad cutting up beautiful vintage kits sometimes for a few parts..... though very rewarding aswell

I hope you enjoy the site as much as I enjoy it here

So does your build have the Michelob bottle cap?

Which bottle cap? If you have one can I buy it?

Not sure what it actually is they used. Ive now got the last of the tank hulls on the side & the large drop tanks. One more piece inbetween the drop tanks 7 some plastic chips on the sides to go. Is looking ok now the parts have filled the gaps. Am happy with the build at the moment. Can now move on to the engine bottom. I have started preparing the Saturn V parts that are cut awquidley.

In some of the vintage photos I have, and have seen there are Michelob bottles of beer in the build room (shop) A recent photo release showed a bottle cap and my guess it is a Michelob beer bottle cap since no other cap drinks were seen in the photos. Someone else on a other forum sight highlighted the photo and asked the question. I sounded about what I just mentioned, and no one argued the point about my theory. The cap wasn't in direct sight, it had something else that arched over it and semi covered it, but it was very clearly a twist off bottle cap.

omes72 GREAT new pics! The only part about your build I don't like is that I'm not skilled enough to do one just like it

*cries*
Thanks for sharing it with us - looking forward to MORE.
P.S. Think you'd be done by 2011's Comic Con? If ByYourCommand.net has a booth could your Battlestart be there? THAT WOULD ROCK

But, if it can't be done by then I know how these take TIME... or if you don't want to move it that far, that's totally cool too. Just wondering.

Thanks for the tip on the bottle top. Im going to see if I might find one

Thanks for the kind words & feedback fellas. Its a great site. Im very honored you would ask me to display my model at your booth at Comic Con. I have not been to one & hopefully plan to at some stage. I would doubt though my model would be finished by next year either. This is really going to take some time. Like years.............. Hopefully another update soon. Stay well you evil but kool Cylon lovers

Have you worked with Brad on your build? He is down under near you. If you not aware who Brad is I'll dig up contact information for you. He has a screen used Cylon, and he built a S.S. Galactica also.

Brad & I have caught up. Im helping him fix & finish his Battlestar. He's actually ripped her apart right now for some modifications

Yep its my fault but will be for the better. Ive been working on the underside now & will have the body section cut on Wednesday. Slowly but surely

OK so I am guessing that you pointed out a part or two that was misplaced, or incorrect is why he is taking the build apart?

Thanks for the kind words. I now have the body on. Its taken some work but finally have it aligned & the floor on which actually should have been the hardest part though wasn't. The body floor had to go through the armature & fit around the centre pipe.

That is great omes72!
It is a shame all that hard work gets covered up from view... but the effort pays off with a solid ship. And we Cylons know how well built the Battlestars are - so hard to blowed up!
Thanks for posting the photos. It is fun to follow along with such an awesome build.

Lets great, and the next question was the cuts made with a laser, or an other method.
