martsl wrote:Thanks guys. BTW sean the following site sells clear acrylic tubes measured by the outside diameter instead of the inside diameter. I ordered 6ft of the 1 1/2 tube and will let you know how it fits inside the PVC once it arrives.

First I will start with the piece of wood you see in the center.it's a two by six .I will cut the back stock from this.and then I will take the rasping files you see and round it out to a stock.this will take awhile. and I will try to give step by step details of what I'm doing at the time.

Took the 2x6 to work today and cut it on the band saw.without the bosses permission. I'm not suppose to use the tools on free time
he's afraid I will cut myself.LOLLLL.Frak him.and by the way I cut the first two with a hand saw. A band saw is much better..heheheh
now I have to break out a rasping file and go to town......but not right now........Oh and I wan't to give a big shout out to C.O.R.A
and CK.thanks guys.....

OK.on this part of the stock .I start going for a half round shape with the rasping file. further back on the stock I want a sharper angle.

There's a member at the Replica Prop Forum who wanted to do it, but then cancelled it due to lack of interest.

I'll see if I can locate the thread for you if you like...

Sean, I'm going to ask a cousin of mine about a vac machine build... he tinkers around with all sorts of wood working, etc. I'll keep you posted! :)
