This thread is having problems. Apparently during the forum redesign (for lack of a better reference point) some of the posts got truncated, resulting in "bold" and "italics" being left on for the remainder of page 1. I've tried to reconstruct my truncated post from memory, but can't turn off the bold and italics. Guess this can only be fixed on the Administrative end.

I've restored/fixed all the posts I could see with issues from a 02-09-2014 back up of our database.
Shortly after that there was a forum architecture update, yes.

The issue is fall out from the double quote character: i.e. " " (or other extended character like an em dash, etc.).

The text was probably copied and pasted from some other site that used an extended character version of double quotes that phpbb didn't quite care for at some point in mid 2014/early 2015... and indeed it chewed them up!

I've noticed this on other threads too and correct them as I find time. Notably my Battlestar Annihilation first post... scared the pogees out of me when I found my first, massive post in that thread was like 4 words... - Fixed it - and this thread now.

Thanks for the heads up, Grog. If you/others find similar screwed up posts just me know and I'll fire up my Cylon temporal text pad once more.
