Re: Cylon Armor
Another new addition arrived today - a vintage battery belt. I can't find a maker anywhere on it, but it looks pretty darn close to the original. It's definitely from the 1970s.

Re: Cylon Armor
I've been trimming my armor and so far it's going good. Are there any detailed pics here on the forum of trimmed armor? I'm having difficulty on the outside boot armor and the wrist armor as well. Not sure where to trim exactly and I can't find any good pics in the threads. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Cylon Armor
best thing is to trial fit before you trim too much and then trim more off as necessary.

Re: Cylon Armor
Looks like you nailed it. The G & M battery belt had very limited run of logos.

I got these used boots for $60. Pretty close to screen accurate and should do the job. Still trimming the armor.

Re: Cylon Armor
I have everything trimmed but the two helmets which hopefully will get done this weekend. I wanted to post my backpack as it has become challenging to complete. The neck armor was one molded piece as was the backpack. However, the mold pull is not that great for the neck armor and I had to fabricate to triangle pieces in order to get the backpack to connect and look somewhat complete. My armor set doesn't have the "L" shape piece that goes from the neck armor down to the backpack. I picked up a 2'x4' piece for flat styrene .080 and will try to make my own. You can see the "L" gap on the back of the shoulders so I at least have to fabricate that piece.
The project continues...

Re: Cylon Armor
Well change of plans on building my cylon armor and costume build. I just bought a used costume for a great price from a guy who just had Kropserkel make him a costume. He had a family emergency and needed to sell the costume fast. It's only a couple months old, worn once, has Richard Hatch's signature inside the chest armor, screen accurate chain skirt on it's own belt that fits under the battery belt, MPG player with speaker, undersuit, boots, gloves. I just received it yesterday and have posted pics of me wearing it. I really like it and basically got it for the price it would have cost me to make my own or paying someone to do some of the work. I still may make my screen accurate gloves and belt since I did secure those two parts.
Now for my armor kit. I have all the pieces trimmed except the second helmet. The first helmet is not the greatest form but the second one is really nice. I'm going to put it up for sale at my cost in the forum store if anyone is interested. US shipping only. I'll do that later today.
