A brilliant listing, 137th Gebirg!
...the city lights one is a doozy. Do you think that was on purpose? Or just, oh, oops...

Glen & Co. did have quite a few items from very obscure items, wow. Great research.

Thanks very much! :)

If I recall the story correctly, the Apogee folks were under extremely high pressure to get the VFX done in time for release. This was the first major effects job undertaken since Star Wars, and at the time most of the Apogee folks were ILM alums under John Dykstra. That one scene over Caprica was very much intentional. No oops about it. They were expressing their frustration in a very creative and hidden way. Nobody noticed until much later. I do recall certain versions of that particular shot edited later on with a rather obvious looking black spot placed where the offending expletive once existed.

I remember taking the Galactica photonovel to school after it was released, and showing my friends the frame with the lights. No one believed me that the lights really spelled that out on purpose, and that is was just the way it looked...LOL.

There's not only the two lines, but a third line that (according to what I've read) represents the initials GL. Apparently a lot of that pressure was coming from Glen Larson.

Ever notice this one? In The Living Legend part 2, just before Cain says his goodbyes to Apollo and Starbuck in the launch bay, there's an establishing exterior shot of the Pegasus. During that establishing shot, we hear the sound of a Cylon base ship instead of the rumble of a battlestar.

It's bad that the continuity people didn't pick up on that!

Did you ever notice that the Council member sitting to President Adar's left when he proposes a toast is ... Glen Larson?

In one of the deleted scenes from Lost Planet of the Gods, which made it into the telemovie, you can hear Evie the chimp. It's when Boxey is talking to Starbuck in the corridor and says, "I want to hear all about it after I see Mother." Chimp noises are clearly audible.

Little-known names, as they appear in the shooting script:

The Viper pilot who says "Hey, Starbuck, it's dangerous around here!" and then promptly gets blown up is named Monk.

On Caprica, the guy who yells "Where were they?" is named Sandell and the big guy who manhandles Apollo is named Lobe.

The Tucana lead singer is identified as "Big Supreme" of the "Space Supremes" (as opposed to "Space Angels" or "Android Sisters"), and the Boray-like guy who welcomes Starbuck and Boomer to the casino in the deleted scene is the "Pit Boss."

Sadly, the character played by Carol Baxter who screams in the elevator on Carillon is never given a name.

A couple things about Saga of a Star World...
  • The Cylon eye sound is mixed at an extremely low volume, compared to the levels in the rest of the series. Just listen for it ... it's barely there. I think they even mix it out entirely when there's not a closeup on a Centurion.
  • In the deleted scenes on the disc, listen really closely when Adama is speaking before they sing the Colonial Anthem, and you can hear Evie.

In "Fire in Space," Komma tells Cassiopeia that he saw Athena, Boxey, and Boomer go into the rejuvenation center right before the Cylon attack. But we know that only Boomer went in there just before the attack. Athena and Boxey had already been in there long enough to play at least one whole game of compartment billyarks.
Maybe he meant to say that he passed by and saw Athena and Boxey in there at the moment Boomer walked in. (But then, he was obviously distracted by Cassiopeia's chest, because he couldn't seem to stop stealing looks at it.)
