I have some of that same tape... have not tried it on the Cylon, just the furnace :)

What about the tape from C.R. LAURENCE "CRL" ? It's pricey but it is chromed and caims to conform to irregular shapes and what not. Also looked at hobby shops and pin striping kits. I guess it really has to do with your personal armor's finish even though it was done at the same place.
