From what I've seen:
  • I think the neck goes up to just over the chin... to make sure the entire neck/jaw is covered.
  • Arm patch 2/3 round.

This pic may give a good impression of how the ribbing on the hood will look like:

Nice pic Red eye. He looks strangely happy to be in that suit. Here's a shot from a "Gary the Cylon" shoot. Good shot of the hood arrangement,

Thanks guys,

New question, on the forarms,
I have seen pics with the vinyl patches on them and they are covered by the armour. Due to budget, do I truly need the patches on the forarms? Please note, I am not looking to be screen accurate, just enough to be passable and the less work the better.

thanks

The ribs end at the chin. The suits were over built a tad so a smaller guy could pull it up to his nose, but it bunched up from the chin down is the way to do it.

Do you have the pics/links to them? I can't think of any vinyl on the forearms. Only the upper arms, then ribs on the elbow.

I have this one and in the above posted pic by HS, if you look at his left wrist you can see a patch.

The forearms are there but you can easily do without them.

The original suit had patches on the upper and lower arm like this:

Zeta, just a thought. If you are having a issue with the helmet beint nose heavy, have you thought about velcro on the back of the hoody to the back of the helmet? this would offset the need to ad unwelcome weight to your head and keep it from being nose heavy. This is taboo if you want a screen accurate suit, but might help for a close replica. Just a thought.

Does anyone have any good reference images of original undersuits? The prototype that I'm trying to recreate in the proper colors for my friend has the wrong number of ribs I think. I'd like some actual undersuit images to go off of instead of just this prototype.

Thanks!

new question on boots,

how wide is the painted stripe on the toe?

in pics it looks like 3 inches.

All the boots were free hand with tape to keep the line straight. No real true size pattern.
