Hello,
New member here from Nova Scotia Canada. How I came to be here is a rather round about way. My wife was at a Weird Al concert in Toronto and there was a song with Storm Troopers onstage with Al. She got to go backstage aferwards and got pictures with the storm troopers and got to talk with them. She found out about them being in the 501 legion. She told me all about it when she got back. I had no idea such a thing existed. When I looked into it, it made me think about getting a Storm Trooper costume and then I stumbled upon that there were Cylon costumes you could buy. Well it has always been a dream of mine to have such a costume. Storm Troopers are cool but people would be blown away by a Cylon costume.
I've been doing a lot of reading on this site and around the web and have decided to order a suit from KS. I don't have the talent, time or desire to build one. It was pricey but I've always dreamed of having a kick @$$ costume and a Cylon is it. I am not overly particular that it doesn't match the screen costume, as I've read about, but it is close enough for me. I plan on wearing it to Hal-Con (Halifax's Comic Con) in November. I wonder if there are any other people on this board from NS?
My next quest is to gear up the warble sound and get some kind of voice changer. I've seen a CD forsale on Ebay with the Warble sound. My thoughts are I will buy it, put it on my IPOD, get some small external IPOD speakers and attach them within the suit. This will take care of the warble sound. I will most likely look for a children's voice changer thing I've seen forsale - the are cheap but I hope it will do good enough.
I still have much of this forum to explore - so much great info in the posts.
So much awesomeness.
