Just wanted to make a quick post saying hello. I like the original Cylons but also like the look of the NuBSG Cylons as well.
I plan on one day building one of each.

Hey Eric welcome on board. Hope to see the progress you are able to show off as you make the build, and maybe if you offer up a new idea or trick on how you made your build. Interested in the NuBSG Cylon. Is that going to be a dispaly, or a wearable suit.

Thanks for the welcome. I adjusted the size of my avatar as it was way to huge. I plan on building a couple of Cylons over the year or two. I may not have to build the original cylon because you can get one from kropserkel I believe (last time I checked) but that will be in another post.

Forgot to answer your question there, All five cylons will be for display. I'm 6ft and 240lbs and still loosing (I was 290!) but until I reach my goal of 170 the original series cylon will be on a mannequin.

The Krop Cylon might be a mistake if you are going to be a member here. You will see all the problems over a period of time with a Krop Cylon compared to a replica of a screen used Cylon. The most notable difference is the back pack, and other items also. A few Krop owners have signed up here, and upgraded their suits.

I did notice something looked off with the krop backpack (mainly the collar section leading to the back)

scratch that idea out - no krop for me!

Welcome to the club of real Cylon's. No skin jobs here.

Now Remember all Cylons past, present and future - Krop suites are very welcome here. They are just not for everyone. Some will search for years and spend buckets of money to try and be screen accurate. Others are totally happy with a Krop kit, and that's awesome. There is room in the Empire for every Cylon no matter what their cold unfeeling Cylon heart desires.

No Krop bashing - just say it's not for you.
(Like grapefruits.... they are not for me.)

Well of course all Krop suits are welcome. We fix them $$$$...

Welcome Cylonbuilder....and just to let ya know Gold Cylon is a pureist and the local BSG encyclopedia as well as the supreme keeper of all things classic cylon, screen used and replica.

He is an absolute pillar of of BSG TOS knowladge and trivia.

He is somewhat of a Cylon oracle!

Cylon Knight is our technical Genius here on the Base Star and keeps our forum in top shape and has helped me on many occasion.

Ther are of course many very talented guy's here to help with advice and technique if you want to build from scratch or buy parts and assemble.
