Hello everyone,

I am conducting research for the next generation of the Zeta cylon eye scanner.
Please post your opinions to the following questions.

1. Should I keep sound on eye scanner control board?

2. Should I keep the control board mount in the mohawk or place behind the mouth grill as in screen used?

3. Continue with using LEDs or use bulbs?

Thanks,
Zeta

I prefer the board in the mohawk, because your mouth is behind the grill, and if you breathe out maybe some moistue will come over the board.

1. Only if the sound can be my own (larger sized, but not massive) MP3 file. Would need a way to load it in, or have it be the stock sound ;) HA

2. I too prefer the mohawk. Or outside of the helmet if need be. There isn't much room in the mouth area/that would add more heat in your face too... I'll pass on a mouth board.

3. LEDs.
Bulbs are 1:1, yes. However, they are MUCH dimmer, have shorter life span, run hot, and need more power. Better (in my mind) for a display, not a working costume helmet. BUT - offering a blub scanner for the 1:1 pure is a GOOD idea!

Those are my ideas. :)

A little insight that might help. When the lights are not up against the edge 5 bulbs are lit up. The center being the brightest, and the closest to center about 1/2 way lit up, and about 1/4 power on the outer lit bulbs.

Hmm..
Anyone have a schematic of a screen used circuit or even a closeup pic of a screen used board, so I can read the numbers on the chips???
I have no Idea how they did that with analog chips. Not sure if they had digital chips back then available.

It is a wire bread board type of build. No matter work at all to it, and just wire wrap running from point to point. 100% experimental looking more than a real work working model, but it is what they used. The link below is some of the chips used. There are 5 of these chip, and 4 of the 5 are in charge of lighting 4 of the bulbs.
