ok Cylons, the Con is going to be held at the Javits Center in Manhatten on Oct 11-14th. This is without a doubt the biggest convention in the NYC area. It now takes over the entire Javits center (when it began, only have the center)

I have already posted over at Blackstar Squadron, and wanted to see if any of our Cylon brothers were planning on going to the convention. I want to see if there is enough interest to look into a Table to recruit. BSG.org is also located in NYC so If the interest is there, I may look into bringing them into the discussions to help people do costumes. I'd LOVE to have someone from the Empire here to balance out the recruiting and hopefully pose for pictures.

so, who wants to challenge the Colonials? lol

It is far enough out to plan for it, if I haven't moved ny then. I'll have a better answer in a few months. When are you looking to get a head count.

right now, I'd like some general numbers, no firm answers. I've gotten enough feedback from Blackstar to look into a fan table (not sure we'd be able to have BSG.org sell anything at a fan table, but I think we can get around that by not taking orders right there, just having several sizes to try on.

I don't think I need firm numbers till 2 to 3 months out from the con. Just to start table shifts and what to display there.

as an update. I have gone ahead ond contacted the con for info on getting a fan table. i did it in the name of Blackstar, but also mentioned the Cylon Empire. I do intend for it to be a joint table. Even if there are no Tinheads present

...I have a few items the 501st gave out at a con once that I got... BYC/Cylon Empire does not have anything right now in the way of hand outs. I could *ahem* "borrow" some ideas from there stuff and create our own.

I could make print ready stuff in a heart beat, that's my day job... but what to put on them?
Does Blackstar have anything you would care to share with me / bounce ideas around?

Go get them John. Good idea to design up something. Show it off to your boss and tell him the Empire thanks him. LoL
