Long time Sci Fi concept artist Ralph McQuarrie passed away today. He was 82

Oh wow I just heard this news. His work has inspired me for years. What a huge loss to the world. I am so sad.

VERY sad to hear that indeed.
But he'll live on through his awesome artwork he had given us and the sci-fi world!

He was (as I will always think, IS) a great artist and always will be. He will be missed.

Sad sad news.
He left us sooo much wonderful art and helped define so much of what the movies are, thank you Ralph!

What a loss this was when I heard it! Yeah, I understand he was pretty old at 82. I remember looking at this guy's artwork when I was a child. Those concept pics of Darth Vader and countless other characters in Star Wars and BSG were awesome just awesome!!

Holy cow, I just saw this. How could I have missed that news?! I bumped into him at a con back in the 80's and got his autograph...
