calling all UK Cylons... new chrome tech in UK at last

Hi I am new on here, I have a Cylon armour that I airbrushed up with chrome alcad, but this week I discovered a new product that you apply with simple water spray bottles... you do not believe me? the watch this UK based company video, you can pick up their website info from the video to, I am def going to get this stuff my self, plus you can do gold chrome to :cool:

interesting, I too have tried alclad 2 and I have also looked at the silver nitrate system you mention. post some photos up when you have tried it please :cylon:

Here is a photo of how my lid came out with alcad chrome, but will try the new hydra chrome.

did you lacquer your alclad2 chrome?

No I did not lacquer the chrome as it seems to killed the reflective finish so leaft it raw.

I will be buying some of that hydra chrome soon, but on their facebook it looks like they are developing new and easier ways to apply it so will keep an eye on that.... but to be able to chrome a full outfit for less than

My order for Hydro Chrome will be arriving tomorrow :grin: so I will start prepping my armour, decided to do a test on one of the shoulder bells and a left forearm part, fingers crossed.

That is a type of finish that has a bluish tint to the luster. Over a slow period of time if will green out a bit because it is copper based. Fingerprints will be the first thing you will notice, and trying to rub them out turns into rubbing the finish off. :ugh:

I'm hoping to get my lid to a paintable condition by the end of the month so I started looking around for chroming options. Found this - http://www.duddingstoncoachworks.co.uk/chrome-painting/

Not ten miles from me as well. I can't imagine it would be too dear since they have examples of chrim finishing the most frivolous things like PS3 controllers.
