Voice of a Cylon

Post by TK6598 » Sat Aug 17, 2013 12:11 pm

Hi Guys! :salute:

Whilst waiting for my Centurion to arrive from a certain company in Canada I have been getting other bits 'n' bobs ready for the arrival of the Mc.Toaster like an MP3 player with the warble, cooling fans for the lid and some good MP3 speakers.
One thing always bugged me about my last Cylon and that was that it wasn't very 'interactive' with the public unless "By Your Command" came over the speakers at the right time so my wee brain got thinking and thanks to a fellow member of the RPF I came across the "Personal Sound Effect T-Shirt" from Think Geek (just had a blast of Deja-Vu here for some reason). So I got one after the last payday and it is frackin awesome and such a simple (but somewhat strange) idea.

Needed a longer cable from the keypad to the sound unit and after attempting it myself (it did work but looked a total mess) I decided to seek the help of my trusty computer guru and electronic experts (been taking my pc's and Eleanor's laptop to John for years) and we decided on extending the 'control' cable to a little over 6' in length so it will be long enough to travel up from my waist, up my chest and down my left shoulder and ultimately ending up at the keypad which will be secured to my left palm. I was originally going to mount the speaker to the inside of the chest armour but quickly decided against that when the t-shirt first arrived (damn good quality t-shirt) and I was also somewhat against putting holes in the new body suit of

Sorry Guys.

Haven't been on these forums for a bit but the t-shirt was bought from "Think GeeK" and is a "Personal Sound Track T-Shirt".

There was a bit of jiggery-pokery to get the most common sounds within range of my thumb and two fingers under the Cylon gauntlet but each of you will find your own preferences.

Makes it so much better being more interactive as being only able to say "By Your Command" quickly got boring but now you will have access to 20 sounds.
