MY TURN

I am expecting untrimmed armor any day now. I will be building a command centurion. More in the copper hue than gold. Similar in color to the command centurion in "The Hand Of God".

I'm playing with the idea of using copper tape on some of the seams for a more screen-accurate look. And it would save alot of effort in finishing. However, maybe it would look kinda cheesy to the public? Opinions?

As for tape... doing the copper-ish color might be hard for a color match. My guess: You'll have to decide on a chrome shop for sure, get samples and try to find tape that matches... and hope you don't need replating ever :shock: that may be tricky.

Maybe forever apply thin sheet plastic atop the seams... to give the appearance of tape after being plated?

Hmm, good point about the color match. I might find copper tape that I like (if they even vary?) and use it as a color sample to the platers. Maybe what they did on the show, as I still believe the copper centurion was copper, not burnt gold.

No armor yet, but I'm thinking of keeping the eye socket for each half of the head intact and just clean up that seam nicely;

So I wrote to Kropsercle for the heck of it. Their undersuit leaves a little to be desired, but it is very reasonable, at $380. I am inquiring about them making some custom modifications for a little more $. I could always get one and make some mods (actually the wife :bsglol: ).

Like our very own Cylon-Knight use to say: "Photos, or didn't happen!" :wink:

Marking my trim lines on everything (laboriously double-checking references) and beginning to trim today! The hardest to determine (L-R) are the side ribs

...and BTW, CORA (Jim) quickly worked out my issues regarding the armor. :cylongold: It's great to have reliable people around. :salute:
