Hello to all. I'm looking at building my first Cylon Centurion costume. I'm looking for armor either in kit style or if someone has an old set they are interested in selling. Outside of Kropserkel in Canada and a fello down under, I can't find any armor kits. Any suggestions on making or acquiring a costume parts is appreciated.

Thanks

I bought a full kit from the guy from Down Under, and it should be ready for delivery probably by the end of this week. It is moulded from a screen used cylon outfit and is made of fiberglass, not vac formed. When I get it, I will post some pics up and an honest review of it.

I've got mine from the same source several years ago and are very happy with it.

Here are some photos:

That's a nice looking set of armor. Great job on the chrome.

An absolutely beautiful set of armor. Needs a good ZAPing by a Colonial laser.

What brand of chrome paint did you use on that?? And are you happy with the chrome appearance/luster/shine/reflectivity etc??
My armor should be here in a few days and just thinking ahead....

The paint was called Starchrome III and it really comes close to real plating and I'm very happy with it.

Well I found a old armor kit that a friend of a friend bought back in 2003 and never trimmed or assembled so I scored some armor. I'll post pics once I get it. I also found a nice pair of vintage cooper 28 hockey gloves on ebay that I bought. I need to get a belt and boots.

Will these work or are they too short?

I would think the boot armor would have a real hard time staying in place with boots as short as those. The leg armors move all over the place as it is... shorter boots might magnify that? The foot has the right look, but yah, way shorter.

You might try local motorcycle shops. They sell boots that resemble good ol' Cylon boots. Or if you have a local shoe repair shop, sometimes they sell boots by catalog.

Dabambam...Try typing in "engineer boots" in ebay and you should get something that's reasonably close, but be warned, these boots go over $100. I'm also looking for some boots now after scoring some NOS Cooper gloves. I've been looking for cheaper boots, but haven't been successful as yet.

Red Eye...thanks for the paint info. I'll look into it.

Well my Cylon armor kit arrived today $450 Shipped. I was told this was made by Jim Sleeth and the owner has had it since 2003. Looks like a pretty nice kit. It doesn't have the rib armor and I may have to extend the sides to the backpack, but otherwise everything looks great.

You're right, it's a Jim Sleeth kit.

Good luck with your build! :cylon:
