Does anyone know whats happened to Colonial Fleets? It’s been down for ages.

Wondered the same myself. Could be they simply stopped paying for the server. I checked on Whois.com and their domain is good through late 2019 so it's not that. It went down several times for long durations before finally giving up the ghost.

A shame... While I never agreed with their rather draconian anti-NuBSG policy, it was a great resource for all things TOS. I will miss it.

A shame, it was a fun place for fans of the classic show. Looks like it’s definitely gone for good.

I wondered that as well, as I have been (was?) a member there for several years, under the same username as here (thanks again for letting me join here!) The site went down 2-3 times last year, and once for about a 2 week period. When I and others asked the mods what had happened, we got very evasive answers cloaked within Galactica language and lore, almost as if the mods did not want to address anything going on. It is definitely a shame, as there were well over 1,000 members, albeit only 65 or so of us really active in the past year or so.

I do know that a few of the users at Fleets post semi-regularly-to-regularly at Tombs of Kobol forum (formerly Cylon Alliance). User name of Martok in particular (username at both Tombs and Fleets). I haven't asked, as I am not a member of Tombs, but perhaps he would have some insight?

However, when I enter my login and passwords they don’t work. And, when I fill in the form to recover my password and send my email in, it tells me that the string wasn’t filled in. It never asked me for one of those number-letter combinations.

Yep, same thing happened to me too and there are no posts newer than July 31, 2014!
