I recently ran a 6 month challenge to make a Lightsaber hilt for $35 or less out of anything. Here was my own result. Classic styling... an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.

Can anyone spot common household items used in the build?

You have some cylon centurian in that hilt there.
No I think you may have used a vacuum pipe for the main body, the rest I'm not too sure.
Sweeping led for the saber would be cool though.
