Hello my real name is Mike. I have been a BSG (1978) fan for ever. I have wanted to build a Cylon costume for some time. I am currently a member of the 501st legion Alpine Garrison in Utah. My Imperial number is TK5067 and I did build my StormTrooper armor myself. I hope to learn how to build a Cylon for myself from all of you here. I am excited to learn!!!!

Hey Mike welcome on board. Can't wait to see our hear about your suit build up. Feel free to ask any question, and if you need some photo reference or photos posted just ask away.

Thanks Dale....It's good to be here. If there are some good photos or even specs on the Cylon armour would be great. I built my TK out of ABS and the help of a friend with great molds and a very good Vacuum Form machine. I have been watching the Voice thread with great interest. I wondered how it was done for quite some time. I do have an old tape of ELO Time that has a Cylon voice at the beginning. Now that I watched the video that was posted I understand it now.

The Mr Roboto part of ELO, yeah that was a Vocoder.
On an other note I sent an email off to a fellow board member trying to recruit his help. I asked if he would take some photos of his step by step process in forming the Cylon parts. I will then take over the project once his work is done, and I'll do a pictorial on the build up of the suit. I am not sure if I will go to the 100% completely finished Cylon, chromed and under suit, but I hope this helps the builders on the forum.

Not doing the 100 % would be fine....I think the most difficult part would be the armor its self. I do have the paper helmet patterns but have yet to build one. I am hoping that it will be accurate enough to make a mold of to do in Polystyrene vacuum form.
