Original Concept Cylon

Post by GoldCylon » Tue Jan 29, 2008 4:01 pm

This was one of the very first of several concept Cylons made. This was never used, but at least a drawing, and a model was made. Wonder what ever happened to it? In the trash can?

I think so.

But the basic idea of those pre-Cylons (the different mouth piece and the blue scanner eye) influenced the design of the Command Centurion Vulpa Six in the Realm Press-comics.

Here's a picture of him:

Hmmm, I believe McQuarrie also did some concept Stormtrooper drawings (I have not researched that though, so am no expert).

But with the inverted V and the two 'horns' coming out of the jaw I can already see an unfortunate similarity.

Anyway whilst I still prefer the final classic image, it is interesting to see what else BSG could have been.

Thanks for that image link. That is the first time I have seen that, a very interesting comic concept on Vulpa.

No problem!

I think the artwork on the Realm Press-comics were by far the best of all BSG-related comic stuff.

Actually Mcquarrie did all the concept art for the Star Wars original saga.

his original concept stormtrooper are extremely similar to these concept Cylons.
