I am watching the new Knight Rider - right now!

I noted the new scanner sound for K.I.T.T.... it seems to have a more of the distinctive cylon sound to it. I hope to have a sound clip of it soon - having the show "taped" to a DVD recorder and I plan to sample the effect out of it.

I thought the sound of the scanner sounded alot like the original.
At least for now, SOMTHING about the original K.I.T.T. has made it into the new show.
A lot of the original K.R. fans don't like the new show at all, especially 'cause their using a Mustang.
I for one will continue to watch the show with great interest.
Hopefully we will get some action from the original K.I.T.T. and K.A.R.R. on this show.
They always intended to bring K.A.R.R. back, thats why they showed the computer "still alive" at the end of the show "K.I.T.T. vs K.A.R.R.".
Maybe someone wil find the cpu and put it into some menacing machine.
Would be a great story line.

I think the voice of K.I.T.T. from the original needs to be used, and or at least the name Micheal over Mike and I would be more interested in it. Over all not a bad show, but tease us a bit with something from the past to keep the original base in smiles.

I agree the scanner was very close to the Trans Am K.I.T.T., but it sounded like it had 'a little something' extra... maybe my TV is junk (IT IS OLD! HA)

Die-hard haters of the Mustang just need to realize that they don't make Trans Ams anymore, and the Camero (closest thing left) is next to OWNED by Transformers. And GM even passed at the show - didn't want to be bugged by people wanting to by a K.I.T.T. again... sillies.... The Mustang is a pretty good choice, and it's the second Mustang used in a Knight Rider spin off. I think the show would make more sense if they dropped all the snake (cobra) logos off - like in the gym on the wall, etc. They are a knod to the cobra and a hint to sell cars - not much to do with the story arcs of the show! *sigh*

Some think K.I.T.T. should be an exotic car - Lambo, etc. BUT K.I.T.T. has to fit in, so a nice 'average' sports-car is a great choice (i.e. Trans Am, now the Mustang).

Don't get me wrong, I too will watch the new show with A LOT of interest and will come to like it for what it is - and isn't - against the original show. And if you hate the Mustang that's cool... took me awhile to warm up to it. I'm not going to put the two series in a death-match against each other as one is "right" so the other has to be "wrong"... I want to enjoy both Just like oh a little show called BATTLESTAR GALACTICA! Glen's ROCKS, and the new SciFi one is great too. There is room for both on this shining planet known as Earth.

K.A.R.R. returning would be cool, and fit into the show's story well. It would be more likely to see the Knight Industries Two Thousand come back - it was in the new two hour movie. I think in fact K.A.R.R. (or a second two thousand body was in the movie as well, up on a lift in the shop. Very quick, but it is there). A modern day K.A.R.R. with sat-links to all sorts of computers... oh man, all the stuff he could mess with to advance his own twisted plans - that would be FUN TO WATCH

My thoughts EXACTLY, Gold Cylon.
I know that this show is aimed mostly at young kids, but surely they also want to play to the original fan base. This could be very big for them, making them a lot of money.

I think the new K.I.T.T. looks pretty freakin cool. I still think it would have been more appropriate to use a 4rth gen 'Bird, or maybe even a new concept Trans Am.
I think G.M. coulda cashed in on this, but obviously they didn't want to, and your right Cylon Knight, they didn't want to on the original either.
Had they have wanted, they could have worked out a deal with Universal to actually make the car (or one very similar) available to all those people that made millions of calls to them wanting "the K.I.T.T." version of the 1982 Trans Am. They could have made a LOT of money.

Ohh well, there's plenty of replica companies for it just like there are for Cylons.

You can go to the formus to check out what a lot of people think about the new Knight Rider.
They have a section devoted just to it, but MOST of the discussion is actually in the "General Discussion" forum.
