After some dimentions (Not Parallel Universes)

Post by greatsaje » Fri Jan 07, 2011 5:51 am

I have been working on my papercraft armor and it seem to be a bit on the small side, ie i have to turn the neck to get it over my head.

What i am after is a few key dimentions so that i can try and scale the peices to the correct size, if they are not already.

as the armor seems to be all scaled from the neck peice I will start there, my neck opening, front to back is 21.5 cm and left to right opening is 19cm wide at the widest point, top plate (the panel wher the nech opening is)is 25.5cm front to back x 24cm left to right at the back and 13cm at the front.

The peices seem to be in the right proprtrions, but seem to be on a smaller scale.

P.S. Why papercraft it you ask? I have been challenged to not only make a standard suit, but also a steampunk version, so once i get the paper version correct I will be building the final one out of sheet metal and soldering and riviting it together with a large copper heatsing replacing the mohawk and a blue scanner behind a black stencel to give the effect of a horizontal Jacob's ladder for the eye.

A steam punk version?....Awesome dude, very awesome. I have only seen a few concept art drawings.
Now I had no idea the paper-craft was a tad smaller, but that could be from the conversion the guy that did the file. He asked me a few times for measurements, but paper-craft costumes were very new back when he was asking me about the stuff, and I didn't help much. I finally saw the end result helmet about 6 months later and was blown away on the detail of just a few folds ( a few)

So do you have any concept drawing of your steam punk suit?
