LastBattlestar's studio scale Colonial Movers

Post by LastBattlestar » Fri Feb 11, 2011 11:53 pm

Hi guys, this is another one of my favourite builds, the Colonial Movers transport from the rag tag fleet. Definitely one of my favourite builds, but currently in drydock for 'minor' repairs.... :)

The good news is that there is a beautiful studio scale kit of this ship available from 'shadowknight' at resinilluminati.com if you are interested? No, I don't have a financial interst in it, just giving you guys a heads-up on a great kit that builds into an impressive 3-foot plus model.

Anyway, here's my scratchbuilt Movers, I hope you like it.

definitely one of my favorites. This really has the the "rag tag" theme and gives note to any and all ships that can fly. Honestly I would almost choose this ship to display over all the "main characters"

Awesome build. A few simple box cars, and a lot of details in the front, back that makes this one of the better ships of a realistic sense. This ship even made it a focal point in 2005 in "The Hand of God", but made into a much large scale. It hid like 3-4 Vipers in each container taking the Cylon outpost by surprise.

The classics are still the best....

It was great (and inspiring) to run through your thread on RI, Mike. I got the new kit for the movers from ShadowKnight and it is top notch. I hope to get started on it in a few weeks after I finish up the raider and shuttle.

Boy after staring at those pics,......your's and Phils CMs are really fantastic. They are going to be tough acts to follow for sure. I've got my work cut out to even come close to them.

Thanks Dougie! If you noticed the last pic in my thread, the Movers needs a slight rework. Someone else has been refining things for me, so it will be back even better than before. ;)

Speaking of someone else, Phil's Movers is just superb. The thing won three trophies at it's debut model show- it's that good, way beyond my skill.

BTW, the Duff can was released by a local brewer, West End, in the early 90s. They got into a little trouble with copyright and withdrew it. That empty can was worth $50 last time I looked!

I did hear that someone made some Duff beer years back, and yes I heard they got in trouble, but I had no idea who or where it was at. Now I have the rest of the story. Thanks Paul Harvey!!!

I also have a bottle here that family brought back from Austria last year, so there is definitely DUFF beer still being produced!
