I think this is what Mattel was trying to caputre in the 1978 original Cylon figure run. At least one of those insignias. GC1

I was thinking of it as well.
I bet the designers used similar reference as posted above while sculpting the Centurion action figures for Mattel's BSG toys:

The throat piece I bet is like the Adama crest. It is just a unfounded piece more than a sculpted piece. Maybe the same for the chest piece except the plate and the boarder decor.

Im thinking so as we all know production photos and artist renderings are normally released pre show for set desigins, costumes and such. I believe these photos might be the inspiration for the toy cylons.
Love the "human" hands in the second pic as well lol

I dont think so Dale. Looking at my "Gordon" copies which are pretty close in the acutal details... these Cylon pieces are different

I didn't mean they are the same thing but they were found pieces that were used to create the item on the throat.

Ah set found scraps and such such. I kind of like the clunkyness of the four bolts fastners on the large chest insignia plate. Very 'Early" cylon lol

There is a fine wood supply that is near valjean ave. When I worked at Stans ( just a few doors up the st from grant mcewens) aka the old ilm. I went to this place and they had a lot of that sort of thing. And they have been around for a real long time. I'll try to run over their on Friday.
I'm thinking of a reference challenge.
Winner gets a free painted insignia set.
Second gets a resin set.
Third gets half off!
Let's see all of your best hi-res cylon pics. Insignias would be preferred.

There is a double edge on the colar you can see that very well on the majestic box cover and on Cora image1&2. Is that made with the second shallow collar cover or something new ( cut styrene plate)? I see it sometimes on ref, mostly on the older ones. Now is it black on the garrison leader or an angled shadow? I got to check that out on the video.
