Chavant in a roll. I honest can't remember the # but it's medium. Sulfur. It ok for this cooler temp but be wary in summer.
Thanks!
I finished it once and reworked it entirely 4 weeks maybe 40+ hours

Sounds good. Let me know if you want any help when you do the mold.

it's like plaster of Paris but harder. slightly different compsition, I believe there is lime in it. Hydrocal or ultracal more than likely.

Ultracal is that a product name? and does it come in powder or liquid form.

I have used Ultra Cal 30 (Gypsum Cement)

A very low expansion, gypsum cement used widely in the SPFX industry. Makes hard, super strong precise molds. Ideal for foam latex and slush latex molds especially where durability and detail reproduction are a concern. Can be heated in an oven.

Ok I'm going to use ultra cal 30 mixed with acrylic 60 and die keen green. The die keen
Is 1/3 part of ultra cal. And the acryl is1/3 part of water. That's for the 2 surface Coates. Then reduce die keen to one fifth For the rest. I add many layers of loose weave burlap 4 folded or 7 flat.

Due to the size of the mold, I would use 5 layers of folded burlap. Do you plan on stiffing bars on the sides to stabilize the bulbous head and thin shoulders??

Nope no other materials. The shrinkage rates are different when heated. This will be no joke probably my 500 th or so mold of this style.I learned this process from Jerry Gergely and Tom Savini. I taught mold making, sculpture and painting for 3 years 15 years ago or so at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I build them one inch thick evenly lightweight and super strong. Thanks if you guys have some questions once I start, fire away.
