real vents in the mouth grill?
Preparing my Cylon for Halloween and the upcoming comic con I am trying to make it easier to breath inside the helmet. I bought a little fan to put in the helmet for air flow but have run in to some problems. There is really no good place to put it and even if I was happy with a placement the sound it too much. The fan outside the helmet does not give off much noise but in the helmet it sure does. It is already hard to hear in the helmet and the fan makes it even harder. So the fan idea is on the back burner for now. So I was thinking about having actual vents in the mouth grill. Angled and thin enough so that they would not be noticed but imagine the benefits. Has anyone tried this?

I can only say, that i have no fan in the helmet. Its ok for me. I got some air inside from the eye scanner.
There is also not really space in my helmet to instal a fan.
Good luck with your helmet.

Interesting idea. As long as the slots were very narrow, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Regarding the fan: Perhaps mounting the fan somewhere else, like inside the chest armor or backpack even, and then running a tube up to the head for a little airflow?

A few guys have done it, but I have rough it out myself, but it does take a toll on you more than 1 or 2 hours. Sorry no help on the fan install.

You can get a welders back pack with a rechargable ba
ttery a fan and an airpipe which connects into
the back of a welding visor. When I get back home tomorrow I will
post up a photo of mine
