If you plan of chroming the helmet you will want to use at least 500 grit, and go on up to 1000 grit to have that really cool shiny. Using a primer paint is OK also.

Ah, yes! You're right!

I've just taken a closer look at the chest plates and they're definitely coming from Hand-Schaub's workshop.

You've got a good Cylon eye, CK. :cylon:

Yeah, and I noticed that one poor Cylon will only get a head and boot armor... dang?! The bad economy has even hit the Cylon Empire - CUT BACKS!

"Sorry, you only get a head and boots."

Good eye, yes those do belong the Brian. He had a open house yesterday. Him, and his g/f bought a house a few months ago, and wanted to show off his man cave stuff. Great place, and work area.

Hello everyone,

thought I would throw this out.
I am currently blending in the visor to the helmet. The grill is temporary in place for pic only, and will be attach after the painting. I have decided to paint the helmet, due to the high cost of chrome. still working out details for the paint.

The helmet looks pretty good, but to toss a price out for chroming if done in a group it might run about $60 give or take how many other pieces are chromed at the same time. Shipping and tax not included in that ball park price.

Zeta - the pic looks great, I actually like the finish as it is right there! Sort of looks like a Cylon after a Raider crash ... cool.

yes - sometimes the in progress shots are way cooler than the final pieces.

Also, group prices are deffinately better. I would be more than happy to include your build in my massive order. It will probably be just as affordable to chrome it than doing a high quality paint job.
