A mirror finish is easy. The question is what is the quality of that mirror. Luster. Luster.

Hello everyone,

Helmet painting has started. 2 coats of white primer with sanding of 400 grit between them. The second coat will be sanded with 800 grit.
Then the gold base color will start.

yes - sometimes the in progress shots are way cooler than the final pieces.

Also, group prices are deffinately better. I would be more than happy to include your build in my massive order. It will probably be just as affordable to chrome it than doing a high quality paint job.
Do it do it! It'll bring everyones price down a lil...the more the merrier! :cylon: :cylongold: :cylon:

altho...i am now intrigued about this painting technique

Not a bad idea. Power is out but the gas stove works so popcorn it is. Woohoo.

Hello everyone,

Here is a test of the custom eye controller. The controller does the eye sweep and makes the woo woo sound in sync with the lights. I still need to finish the helmet.

This one in the light.

This one in the dark.

And some pics.

Very cool, very very cool. I wouldn't but that speaker in the helmet. It will drive you crazy in about 2 minutes. Place it in the chest or back pack at least that way you will last about 20 minutes before you go crazy.... Now I wouldn't worry about the timing of light sweeping with the sound. No one will notice, and they were not in sync on TV either. Great work.

It's great to see both the helmet and scanner as combined!

Great work!!!

Too too too awesome Zeta!
Am I right that the circuit board can fit inside the Mohawk going "up?" (Like from the bridge of the nose straight up). Use up that hollow space.

The bottom vid is funny - that Cylon has a mouth full of wires! ;)

P.S. Like the new avatar you put up a few days ago.
