Comic Con 2011.

Post by Monolith21 » Sat Oct 02, 2010 3:01 am

So we still on for this? I'm stirring the pot over at Blackstar to get people in uniform. I'm hoping we can make it into a fun "Cylons vs. Colonials" competition. We need to come up with some sort of trophy that the winning group takes possession of. It would be cool to make it an annual thing.

Any ideas?

I am rolling in neutral with this event at the moment because the script hasn't even been written up yet. This has been a slow moving project on the movie side, and I was advised not to jump on the event to early or it will be over looked when the movie (if it happens) opens. I would like to have a stab at this 2011, but I need some positive insight to make this happen next year.

I hear ya. I think Blackstar is going to go ahead and make our debut at this years Comic Con in hopes of drumming up some interest and recruiting. When they start the push for the movie, we'll definitely kick it into overdrive though. I figure it can't hurt to start getting some attention in 2011 for the club and just put Battlestar on people's radar again.

I am sure a Cylon or two will show up, but nothing on the official side of the Cylon Empire at this time. I am going to see a few of the inside guys in a few weeks on location, and I'll get the low down on what is going on, and make the choice to make a showing for 2011, or wait till the following year.

I just have a Helmet, but looking for a suit.....cause im too tall and muscular for a Stormtrooper - the ex=procyclist legs don't fit a lot of characters ......

I say let us make a full push for 2011. If one doesn't have a goal then projects rarely get done. So let's get to it Cylons and finish our chromed asses up!

Your right. With out a plan nothing will happen. Maybe a saw of chrome power might kick Tom & Bryan in to virtual butt to show them and Uni we are still here. I also wonder if Uni would have any interest in sponsorship of the event. Even a official banner if that is all would be cool.
By Your Command. The tin heads will rise and take the Con by complete surprise unlike or Carilon counter parts.

ACCK! Cylon-Knight is running into "more monthS than the money" right now... grrr... COMIC CON may not be in the budget since you have to buy in so dang EARLY. I had to get an entire new A/C system in the house, some car parts and a new roof maybe (find out later this week). Big fat ugly hail storm... BAH!

When is the latest you can "get in" on CC 2011? I know an old pro at it and he said the earlier the better for CC.

So cool! This might be a good trial run for our big move push. We may not get a table in time for this year, but I'm not giving up on a fan meeting room. Whatcha think?

I think it would be just a gathering at this point in the venture. No table this up coming year, and if we have a nice turn out we had paved the way do a full on launch 2012. The movie by then will be defined as a go, or no go. If a GO I bet Universal wouldn't mind stepping in a bit to help promote the movie.

Here is the info form my ComicCon Connection - a PRO who has been to the Con MANY years:
_______

November 1st, tickets go on sale. My advice? Be on/near a computer that morning and get your 4-day pass ASAP. Don't wait! Seriously. Get either a 5 or 4 day pass (it's cheaper than a day to day thing; and the 5 gets you there on preview night; the four is just Thursday through Sunday). The advantage in getting a fiver is that you get your badge on Wednesday evening and won't have to miss any morning panels or events on Thursday waiting at registration. At 9 am Thursday (when the events start), you just wave your badge and walk in...

Someday you probably will need time-travel to get those tickets!
_______

Hope that helps some Cylons :) :cylon:
