GalactiCon head count
OK I was asked by Shawn how many Cylon's are attending between this group The Cylon Empire), and an other Cylon group. I said 10 group members would be attending from here, and 4 from the other group. The plan is to have 2-3 Cylon in suit at all times for photo ops. That mean rotating shifts of 1-2 hours before the next team shows up.
I enlisted Eric Chu (Cylon God) board member here to draw up a couple set designs to use as a back drop. The other group has a Imperious Leader throne, but unknown what else. I asked Eric if he could have some concept art work drawn up with in the next 3 months, and he thinks he can do that. So with a few items to select from the set designs should be available late summer, early fall. This is the not set in concrete plan to have a back drop set or as mentioned before a large poster.
I'll be speaking with the Florida BSG group (Gene) 1 on 1 later to see what we can do together as a team. His site is http://bsg-cca.org
Feedback? Thoughts? Ideas?

I saw that wasn't working, and tried to edit it, and it still wasn't working. My new ISP has been on/off all day, and I think I made the edit while the connection was a bit wiggy. Thnanks

No prob. You just needed to add the htt:// to the front so it could resolve to a sub-domain.

Let's get the Galacticaon party started!!!
GOLD memember here!
yeah $300 bones for what I hope will be a plate of food that will be enhanced rather than subtracted from. If you do the math you can do everything for $205 but what "priority" means... we'll see. I guess for a once in a decade event it's worth it.

Re: GalactiCon head count
I have been going over my options to get my build done in time. A friend and I are planning to build one each so that would be two of us. Im giving Jim some time to recoop after C6 to grab some armor... Im in San Diego and would be driving to houston.
I had a question about the memberships. I dont think ill be going for the gold being that its 300 bucs but was considering the Silver. 87 isnt a bad price considering other conventions. Will I miss out a lot on stuff without the gold, even in armor?

Great that you plan on going, and I haven't hammered out the details yet with Shawn, but I was thinking a Cylon or two would be great in some of the photo shoots that the $300 package people will have. Since the Cylon is so iconic from the original series I would think that would be a must have, but that is my view.

I just assumed that there would be a TON of cylons there. Is this not the case??

But what im curious to know is, is there to be a lot of cylons suited up like say a bunch of troopers at celebration. Does the BSG community suit up or do they just "attend" for the most part?

I don't think there is a standard yet... these Galacticons are like 10-ish years apart, right?

Re: GalactiCon head count
I think we are attempting to establish a standard. 501st members often "work" for the cons as crowd control or have setablished photo areas. Sometimes these costumers are reimbursed in some way especially if thier costumes are at a higher standard and make the con 'look good'.
Since most Cylon costumers are on this site then it may be easier to establish set groups to participate in things. The only drawback I am finding is that it seems we are being asked to participate but with no perks attached. Is that a fair thought?
I already have a gold ticket so I'm good to go. But I don't want to be 'working' during an event I already paid for and sacrifice my comfort on top of it. That is not to say I dont want to be part of important photo ops which will set the standard and establish the functions and formation of the Cyulon Empire.
