Galactica 1980 Flying Turbo bike

Post by GoldCylon » Sat Mar 15, 2008 11:59 pm

I ran across this on eBay. The Galactica 1980 flying turbo bike. This is way over the top in the asking price, and must have cost a ton to post it at that price, but hey it is for sale.

Unbelievable asking price!
I remember being disappointed at the time at how bad Galactica had gotten - and these bikes epitomised the cheesiness of Galactica 80.
Fortunately I have forgotten most of what I saw.

The turbo bikes were some of the best things ever to come of Galactica 1980. It would be so cool even by todays bike standards to have one of those to cruise around on. The price, well it is about 100K - 140K to much, but hey the guy might get lucky and score on it. By the way the story of this bike was it was pulled out of salvage by a kid about 15+ years ago.

You know, if the motorcycles didn't fly on "Galactica: 1980" then they wouldn't be so bad. The actual design looks pretty cool.

The entire thing is cool, flying or not, but in real life these things never have, or never will fly, just a odd trait that Larson gave the crew with super powers.

On an other note, talking with the seller these photos are 10 + years old, but claims the bike still looks the same. Polaroids what a blast from the past, just like the bike :-)

Sorry Dale, I have to agree with Galactifan on this one - they wouldn't be so bad if they didn't fly.
Lookwise they are nice enough. But it was when those little wings folded out and the bike flew (with very bad special effects), well that lost me.

Bah... I must admit it's been ages since I've seen the original eps. But I do recall not liking BSG on earth that much.
