(My 1st scratch build) BSG pylon/battery ship

Post by cylon75 » Wed Jan 27, 2010 7:07 pm

Hi this is my very 1st scratch build a little known ship seen in a few scene's from time to time though out the Battlestar Galactica show. Its been called the battery ship, pylon ship and wiki refers to it as the tubed ship. At any rate i decided to build one myself and it didn't come out that bad tried to make it in some what the same scale as other ships that are out there to go with the revel galactica and other bigger scale models . To my surprise this ship has been cast and will be available for sale at the starship modeler store very soon. Thanks to all that helped.

Is this called the battery ship? I am very close to one of the guys that did CGI work from the show, and I haven't seen this ship before, and I want to ask him about this next time I talk with him.
BTW a bit of homage was paid to the original Galactica show that is very little know. It was the final item done on "The Plan" and is only on the DVD. It is an Easter egg on the DVD. He sent me the Easter egg file about 2 weeks before the DVD release. I should ask if I can post it now since it has been made public, but I haven't heard any chatter about on any forum yet.
I'll make an other thread about this is interest is shown on this hijacking of the model ship building subject.
Awesome work on that scratch build.

Pylon or Battery Ship is usually how it is reffered to.

Wiki is mistaken I think about the name "Tube Ship" - that is another design, similar to a taker that the big tubes run horizontally on.
I got pictures in the stash of it.
