6th Millennium Fighter - Schematics
Hello, all!
With the recent release of the 1/48th scale 6th Millennium Fighter, I decided to give it a schematics treatment similar to my Nova Class Battlestar diagrams I did (incidentally, 2 years ago to the day). Take a look and let me know what you all think.

I may appear unoccupied to you, but at the molecular level, I'm really quite busy.

Re: 6th Millennium Fighter - Schematics
That is awesome, very sweet looking. I just wish I would have clicked on the order button when I got the notice. (Dohh) Teach me to read emails at work, and forgot to act on it when I got home when I could make the purchase of the model.
Any chance of making the Land Ram? I have one of the signs (number 4) and displaying the schematic of it with the sign would be awesome presentation.
Thanks for sharing your work.

A LandRam would not be too difficult, actually. There's plenty of source material to draw from. I can put it in the queue of projects. Once I am satisfied with the final version of the 6MF, I'll be working on the Eastern Alliance Destroyer next, followed by the TOS Shuttle and the G1980 A/B Raider. Once I get those monsters out of the way, I can probably knock out the LandRam in a few days.GoldCylon wrote:That is awesome, very sweet looking. Re: 6th Millennium Fighter - Schematics
Yep! This particular one took me about 20-30 hours, all told. I couldn't start it until the resin kit was released, which was only a couple of weeks ago. Now, my Big-G Nova-Class schematics took between 500-1000 hours over the span of 6 months to get done. Very different animals. I don't expect that any project will be as complex as that one (nor do I think I would have the energy to undertake). Erik Christiansen (a.k.a. "Jackill") already did an outstanding LandRam (and I think he may have done a SnowRam variant as well), which I can use as a good orthographic source. Most of my sources are photographic in nature and suffer from perspective distortion, or "foreshortening" in the art world - something that takes me a great deal of time to reconcile in a 2-dimensional technical diagram (I gots ta say - it is a BITCH to do this). If I used true 5-view orthos as a source with no perspective, it would take me no time at all. Just a matter of tracing over the existing lines and fill in some extra details.GoldCylon wrote:In a few days???...Well glad I didn't place any pressure on you. Man that is fasssstttt. You could do a Basestar in a jiffy
HA! All you need is one wedge.

Re: 6th Millennium Fighter - Schematics
Heh...there was a slight difference only in the inner disc on the bottom view. At the time I made these, I didn't think it was necessary to build another view for that. Maybe someday in the future...Cylon-Knight wrote:D'oh! :frak:
