Thank you Cylon534... AutoZone is on my "to do" list now

...I suppose that one can is enough to cover the panels and mouth grill of a single helmet, right?
Yes, and with plenty to spare. I put about 3-4 coats on the panels and maybe 2 for the Grill. Also, that Spray has that great nozzle that sprays from all angels.Cylon-Knight wrote:Awesome!!!

That would be awesome! FYI, any image I post can be used for the gallery.Cylon-Knight wrote:A+ work, one for the Cylon Gallery for sure.![]()
By Your Command! This is what I used but be careful when you make your purchase, there was at least one other can there that was labled "Gunmetal Met" but it had some Silver specs in it (that was shown on the cap) and it had a different replacement number.Cylon-Knight wrote:Cylon534... could you post up a pic of the paint? Do you still have the can? ... I'd like to get some just like it for my helmetThank you!
Woah! Sorry I missed your question! I sprayed the Panels and Eye Area directly over the chrome. No prep work or primer was applied to any of the chromed areas before painting them. Also, the Eye "Piece" on my Helmet is actually part of the Helmet so it was chromed when it came back from the chromer. The paint I used for the Eye Piece was the standard Rustoleum Flat Black.peepachu wrote:Hi, I have a question regarding the sail panels. Did you apply primer over the them prior to spraying with the gunmetal gray? Was there any kind of prep work involved on the actual panel after masking off the area to be sprayed?
I have never painted over chromed plastic before and am unsure as to how to proceed.
Also, did you use any particular brand of flat black on the eye insert and was there priming done there as well?
I don't want to screw mine up.
Thanks.
